DSANV is thrilled to be working with Coach Eric Henderson and the Woodson High School Football team for the 2022 Champion Football Season.
On April 2, 2022 Coach Henderson and the Woodson Football Team put on a great one hour football clinic. Every DSANV participant was paired up with a Woodson football player, and together they practiced passing and ran through a series of drills. Everyone had a blast! The 2022 Champion Football Season will consist of five sessions at Woodson High School. The dates are as follows:
August 20 - 1:00 - 2:00 pm
September 10 - 1:00 - 2:00 pm
September 24 1:00 - 2:00 pm
October 8 - 1:00 - 2:00 pm
October 22 1:00 - 2:00 pm
Registration is $20 and Includes:
- A Champion Football T- Shirt
- Gatorade after each session
- End of Season Party
- A 2022 Champion Football Keepsake
The Champion Football League of Northern Virginia was launched in 2011 by the Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia to provide a safe and fun environment where individuals with special needs can experience the excitement and camaraderie associated with team football.
The Champion Football League is about the entire football experience — the excitement of the sport, the unity of a team, the support of the fans, and the reward of players pushing themselves to achieve. But most importantly, it’s about every player contributing his or her own unique abilities to the team.

By completely this registration all participants agree to the following waiver:
The risk of injury to my dependent from the activities involved in these programs is significant, including the potential for permanent disability and death, and while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and,FOR MYSELF, SPOUSE, AND DEPENDENT I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others, and assume full responsibility for my child’s participation; and,I willingly agree to comply with the program’s stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If I observe any unusual significant concern in my dependent’s readiness for participation and/or in the program itself, I will remove my dependent from the participation and bring such attention of the nearest official immediately; and,I myself, my spouse, my dependent, and on behalf of my/our heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASEE THE other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“Releases”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY and ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property incident to my child’s involvement or participation in these programs, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law, for myself, my spouse, my dependent, and on behalf of my/our heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY INDEMNIFY and HOLD HARMLESS all the above Releasees from any and all liabilities incident to my involvement or participation in these programs, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THEIR NEGLIGENCE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SUBMITTING IT, AND SUBMIT IT FREELY and VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.
I also authorize the use by the Down Syndrome Assocation of Northern Virginia and their programs of any photo, film or video taken of me and/or my dependent at the event for any purpose.
